One former and one current Heat player heared their names called on the first day of the 2009 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Mattew Purke, LHP Klein H.S., goes off the board first as the Texas Rangers select him with the 14th overall pick in the 1st Round. In the Supplemental 1st Round Aaron Miller, LHP Baylor Univ., was chosen by the Los Angeles Dodgers as the 36th overall pick.
