Houston Heat Golf Tournament Director
The Houston Heat organization hosts an annual golf tournament as a fund raiser to help off-set costs to Houston Heat players. The tournament has been an excellent way for the Heat to raise money while offering a fun day for it's supporters. We are a 501(c) 3 organization and all donations to the Houston Heat are tax deductable. The 2009 tournament date is December 2 at Longwood G.C.. The 5th Annual Houston Heat Golf Tournament was a huge success. Thanks to all the golfers that participated and the volunteers that helped make this event a success.
The annual golf tournament is the Heat's primary fund raiser for the year. The money raised helps off set operating costs for the organization and allows us to keep the participation cost down to our parents/players.
This years tournament will be held on Wednesday Nov. 30 at Tour 18. Lunch, dinner, beverages and goodie bags are provided for all players. Lunch and registration begins at 11:30 am with a shotgun start at 12:30. The tournament is a best ball format. The tournament will be followed by dinner and a live and silent auction. We will have a driver and putter awarded for the longest drive and closest to the pin.
In the previous tournaments we have been fortunate to have many former Heat players, as well as other pro ballplayers, participate and/or come by the course to hang out and catch up with former teammates, including: Joe Savery, Johnny Whittleman, Jay Bruce, Danny Lehmann, Bobby Bramhall, Phil Garner, Adam Dunn, Kip Wells, Bert Emanuel, Troy Patton, Scott Kazmir, Koby Clemens, Roger Clemens, Paul Janish, Gary Gaetti, Doug Drabek, Kyle Drabek, Giff Nielsen, David Murphy, Vincent Sinisi, Gerald Young, Charlie Ward, Kevin Bass & Matt Albers.
