Houston Heat Baseball

The Houston Heat organization hosts an annual golf tournament as a fund raiser to help off-set costs to Houston Heat players. The tournament has been an excellent way for the Heat to raise money while offering a fun day for it's supporters. We are a 501(c) 3 organization and all donations to the Houston Heat are tax deductable. The 2009 tournament date is December 2 at Longwood G.C.. The 5th Annual Houston Heat Golf Tournament was a huge success. Thanks to all the golfers that participated and the volunteers that helped make this event a success.

The annual golf tournament is the Heat's primary fund raiser for the year. The money raised helps off set operating costs for the organization and allows us to keep the participation cost down to our parents/players.

This years tournament will be held on Wednesday Nov. 19 at Longwood G.C.  Lunch, dinner, beverages and goodie bags are provided for all players. Lunch and registration begins at 11:00 am with a shotgun start at 12 noon. The tournament is a best ball format. The tournament will be followed by dinner and a live auction. We will have a driver and putter awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive.

In the previous tournaments we have been fortunate to have many former Heat players, as well as other pro ballplayers, participate and/or come by the course to hang out and catch up with former teammates, including: Joe Savery, Johnny Whittleman, Jay Bruce, Danny Lehmann, Bobby Bramhall, Adam Dunn, Kip Wells, Troy Patton, Scott Kazmir, Koby Clemens, Roger Clemens, Gary Gaetti, Doug Drabek, Giff Nielsen, David Murphy, Vincent Sinisi, Gerald Young, Kevin Bass & Matt Albers.

If you participated in the past you should have received a flier and registration form for the tournament by e-mail. If you didn't receive an e-mail and you want to partcipate you can download the flier or one page registration form below. Please fill it out and mail it with your entry fee to the address listed on the flier. Checks should be made out to Houston Heat Baseball. We need 10-12 volunteers to help with set-up, registration, hole in one witnesses and clean-up. If you would like to volunteer or would like to donate an item for the auction you can contact John Ruiz.

This tournament is one of the two fundraisers we have each year to try to offset the operating costs for our organization and keep the participation costs for our players/parents to a minimum.

So come out and help Houston Heat Baseball while enjoying a great round of golf with your friends and some local celebrities. The cost will be $150 per player or $600 per team. Each player will receive a goodie bag, lunch and dinner. Beer is being donated by our friends at Silver Eagle Distributing and cokes and water are being donated by Krailo Printing. Houston Heat Baseball is a 501(c) 3 organization and all donations are tax deductable. 

Last years tournament was the biggest to date with 96 players. Come out this year and help us break last years record.
